Working Days

Posted in Gossip, Personal by Andrew Fashion on the June 9th, 2008

Let me tell you, it isn’t easy working as much as I use to three years ago. Coding basically full time, trying to manage in me time, gf time, diet/cooking time, real estate time, reading time, and so forth. And let’s not forget, my mind is far from the full time job aspect as well. I am born a entrepreneur ;), hehe. But hey, we all do great things, and we all fall down, and have to grow again. When we grow again, we grow with so much more knowledge and experience then we had before. All my computers are fucked up, and I think I have come to a conclusion of why all my PC’s get fucked up. All the “downloaded” software I get from torrents, damn people placing trojans in the files. But dang, I need PS CS3, haha.

Anyways, I think I want to pick up a Macbook Pro 15″ off craigslist. What do you guys think of Macs? After the whole iPhone 2.0, mobileme, etc… Kind of makes me want a Mac. Might sell my Dell, and just get a Macbook Pro.

I have to format my laptop and PC now, so I’ll be posting more later.

EDIT: That didn’t take so long to format, only about 30 minutes. Dell Restore rocks!

EDIT: Okay so the PC took a bit longer, I had to install XP SP2, upgrade to Vista, re-install all the drivers, install all my software, and still not done with updates, nor my laptop. God I hate computers. Gasp… As I mumble “time to switch to a fucking mac…”

Hey Andrew, I feel like we almost travel parallel paths in life and its a fact that if you’re not growing… you’re dying. Im almost certain that the only reason you have let go of everything (myspace suppport and your clothing line) is because you’re not fulfilled by those ventures anymore and you need to be challenged by something new (real estate) and your present skills will compound with the new skills you’ll acquire to build you into a powerhouse to come. Well im excited to see where you go in the months to come and I think i’ll stop creeping as much and start leaving you some input.

Saad - I am going to trust your judgement! You are now the official reason I am switching, and holding you 100% liable if I hate it! LOL

Andrew Owen - HELL YA! 100% Agreed, let’s rock it?

MBP and Mac Pros are the world. Of course they are now more for awe and the “mac-effect” it brings when pulling it out at Starbucks. The reason is with PC’s getting to where they are the only thing truly holding them back would be some of the flaws Vista Ultimate, etc. currently presents. I work with a lot of Ex Apple and Ex Adobe/Macromedia employees and they all say and agree to the same thing. PowerPC(PPC) Macs were amazingly powerful in comparison to PC, and with the release of OS X Leopard (even Tiger some say) and the Intel platform, Mac begins to see much of the problems a PC has always seen with versatility and expansion being utilized.

So either way man, go with what you know. I personally love, and always will love Mac, but I’m a gamer, so my desktop remains quad core top of the line, while my mobile platform remains MBP or a 17″ laptop to accommodate.

Anyway, drop the torrents! Get the real deal, which you should earn right back when using it. Or just purchase the student ultimate for like $999. It’s all well worth it, and you begin to take much of what you do, more serious.

Umm, anyway Andrew I could go on and on about a lot lol, but one sure thing (in response to your other post), is if you have not developed a way to create steady cashflow from the money you have now, into something that generates whether you are doing it or not, you have yourself a MAJOR problem. Lot of spending, no earning, you will hate 5 years from now to be $50k - $100k less wondering where the hell it all went. Create something tangible man, make it make you money whether you are there or not, THEN go off trying new things like real estate, investments, etc…

Dude, I don’t mind being held liable. I TRUST MAC!
Seriously, I’ve been a hardcore PC user all my life so switching over to Mac was a huge step.

And well, it was love at first sight…

I started with a Macbook….few months passed and now I have another Macbook, an iMac, Mac Mini, a Mac G4, and soon to get a Macbook Pro. Though as mentioned earlier, even I still have my PC. I do need to switch over to it for a few things here and there at times - so I like to keep it as a backup.

You REALLY won’t be disappointed. Believe it or not, but Macs will actually encourage you to work - they’re just SO COOL! If you want to start out small with a Macbook, I have a friend who’s had his (black macbook) for a few months and is looking into selling it because he wants to upgrade to a Macbook Pro. Let me know if you’re interested and I can talk to him.
