6 awesome books

I love reading. I have this addiction to books for some reason. I read them all the time, when I am bored, when I need to learn something, etc… So today, I am going to let you guys in on my favorite books that got me started!

1. Build Your Own Database Driven Website Using PHP & MySQL
This was probably one of the first PHP books I ever read before I really got into PHP, maybe 3 - 4 years ago? This book really gave me an incredible grasp on PHP since I was some what new to it at the time. I strongly recommend this book if you are new to PHP and interested in really learning it, so check it out!

2. Bulletproof Web Design
There’s a new way of splicing your PSD templates now, and it’s no longer tables people. Tables are old school and now considered best to be used only for data that requires tables. If you need to display a bunch of data, use a table. If you need to create a layout, use CSS. Why? CSS simplifies everything, your keeping the content separate from the code! It’s nice not to have a huge file of messy tables, and crap code. Most importantly, CSS gives you the flexibility of easily changing the design any time you want if you do it properly! This book gave me a great understanding of how CSS works and understanding the complicated floats!

3. The Lighting Cookbook for Fashion and Beauty Photography
When I first began photography and found out what I wanted to shoot, I picked up this book. At the time I read it was a “little” complicated, just a little. After reading it a few times, and studying it, the book opened my eyes. This book seriously will help you understand fashion and beauty lighting, it did for me! If you are into this kind of photography, I strongly recommend it.

4. Aaron Wall’s SEO Book
When I first purchased this ebook, I was very very hesitant about it. $79! Probably could of got it free off torrents! But I’m not like that ;). I read a few pages, and immediately had to get it printed and binded at Kinkos. I can’t read 331 page ebooks on my computer. The following day, I flew to Virginia, a 6 hour plane ride for me. I read the entire book on the plane ride, probably the most informative SEO book I have ever read, and I have ready many SEO books and articles. This book nails it, everything from the beginning to pretty advanced, amazing ideas and concepts. This book was dynamite for the price, if you need some SEO help, GET THIS BOOK NOW!

5. Professional Search Engine Optimization with PHP
This is where I needed some intense SEO, PHP + SEO. This is not a beginners book at all. I flipped through a few pages and saw some incredible things in this book, so I bought it. Read it within like one or two days, and it was simply amazing! Awesome ideas, provides sample codes, and more! Every chapter is amazing in this book, so if your looking for advanced SEO, this is the book for you!

6. Lifehacker
This book is the kind of book full of ideas and inspiration. Just like the title says, “88 Tech Tricks to Turbocharge Your Day.” This book has some awesome tips and tricks to seriously improve performance, streamline tasks, automate things, and so much more! If your a tech geek like me, this will definitely interest you!

So those are 6 amazing books I loved, let me know what you think after you’ve read all six! Haha, good luck!
