Day five part II: Lighthouse Salon Photoshoot
Can I just say, wow… I have never once in my life juggled so many models at once… At first it was very stressful, people running all over, everyone waiting to get their photos taken, haha. It than began to ease down, and calming, thank god. We arrived at the salon around noon, and my girlfriend did the makeup for six girls or so… We left the salon to my studio around 2pm, and didn’t finish shooting till 8pm. Six constant hours of shooting, and a memory card of 944 photos by the end of the shoot! Eek! The point of the shoot was to show the hair off… Obviously. So I tried my hardest, let’s see the photos now! Keep in mind these are unedited right now!

I know! That’s what I said! A bunch of photos, and too think, there are so many more! At the end, I was pretty happy with the results, and it was definitely a good experience. Next time I know to turn the AC on before I shoot with 20 people in my studio.
I must say, things have definitely changed for me too… Shooting since october 2006, hmm, how long is that? Carry the 1, add 4, minus the 3, ahhh…. So about 8 months now… I know it took me a bit to add it up, haha! Anyways, in the those 8 months, I have increased my skills significantly. From the first photoshoot, taking forever to setup, not knowing what I was getting or going to get. Till now… I mean, I always setup different lighting, always (well, 90% of the time)… From the moment I try something new, I make sure I get it to look good, always trying to learn new techniques, experimenting, and studying other photographers lighting. I have seen myself grow so far in photography within 8 months, and it’s incredible. It’s a great feeling to have a type of “art.” I use to draw when I was little, and just stopped. I got into computer programming, and I could never tell people how creative I was, or talented… Because it was simply a programming language, just adding 2 and 2. But now that I have something to show for, even if I am not getting paid yet (I just started charging), it’s an awesome feeling!
NOTE: If this was a paid photoshoot, there are obvious things I would of done differently… For example, not rushing, not just shooting one after another. I would have probably done a lot of things different to focus a bit more on the hair. But for a free shoot, and shooting 20 models within six hours, I feel accomplished!
Rose got off work, and we grabbed some Red Robin with Jordan, Eric, Rose, and myself. It was pretty good! Took Eric and J-Dizz home, and here I am half asleep trying to blog with correct grammar. Probably going to hit the sack right now, night!
